When you want perfect weather and perfect, soft sunlight, the desert might not be the first place to come to mind. Luckily, this session did not take place in the desert. We met with Yvonne & Roberto at a gorgeous cactus garden in Palo Alto for their engagement session, and the setting was absolutely perfect for these portraits!

Their engagement session was a long time coming. We originally had planned to meet for this photo shoot back in April of 2020, and unfortunately, postponed our meetup for 1 year later. The wait was worth it, and I cannot explain how much we enjoyed the company of these two. Getting to learn more about them and their love story is one of the big reasons we encourage all of our clients to take their engagement photos with us.

Yvonne & Roberto first met in 2013, when they both worked at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. They were working at the Logger’s Revenge ride, a popular attraction at the boardwalk (I can confirm this to be true, I’ve been on this ride many times!) After getting to know each other a bit at work, they decided to finally meet each other outside of work. Both being huge Marvel fans, they went to watch Thor 2 on their first date. It was a wonderful coincident that they are both big of Marvel fans!

Six years later, Roberto secretly got all of their closest friends and family together, hired a live band, lined up a bunch of rose petals and candles that lead Yvonne to the backyard and asked her the big question. After an eventful evening filled with celebration, Roberto took his new fiancée out for one last surprise. That night they went back to their local movie theater and watched the premier of Avengers: End Game. Yvonne claims this to be the most perfect day!

Although we had to go through multiple postponements for this session (and your wedding), the wait was so worth it! Miguel and I are so excited to photograph your wedding day this summer at Jardines de San Juan!
