Big Sur has always had a special place in my heart. Miguel and I have made several trips out to this special place in the Central Coast, but never have I experienced Big Sur in this manner.
Corinna, of Corinna Rose Photography, and I had made plans to go location scouting in Yosemite on this day. Unfortunately, the late winter snow kept us from keeping our original plans but we decided we would still make the most of our day. Big Sur came to mind and even though I had already been to this location many times and had done photo shoots here before, I thought, “What the hell! Let’s go!” So location scouting in Big Sur was our new mission!
Upon arrival, we made a quick stop at the infamous, Nepenthe, to soak in the breathtaking ocean view, and some food to get us fueled up for our adventures. The rest of the day came way too easily for us.
We drove a little further south to see McWay Falls, then back up HWY 1 again towards Bixby Creek Bridge. Before we got to the bridge, however, we spotted a view point that we couldn’t NOT stop at to take a few photos before continuing our coastal drive. As Bixby Creek Bridge followed and our final stop at Garrapata State Park came, I kept thinking “Holy cow, I’ve never seen Big Sur so magnificent!” This might be due to our bad luck of always arriving there to find it freezing cold and overcast with heavy fog.
I’d like to think that the lovely, Corinna and Nick were our lucky charms this day, bringing the good weather and good vibes along with them.
Thank you, Corinna and Nick for spending the entire day with Miguel and I! We’re excited to have built a new friendship with you two and made some awesome memories along the way! Cannot wait to do it all again in Yosemite this summer!
