Linda and Emigdio had quite a journey together before getting to plan their intimate Cancun wedding. As Linda once told me, (and I never forgot it) they kind of did things backwards. They began dating when Linda was still in high school. After she graduated they welcomed their daughter, Alexa to their world. They soon saved up to buy their first new vehicle together, and soon after that a house. After the foundation was built, Emigdio decided it was about time he “put a ring on it!” (Took you long enough, dude! 😉 ) In December of 2015, during a family vacation to Cancun with Linda’s entire family, Emigdio planned out a romantic dinner on the beach where he finally proposed to the love of his life.
As they began to plan where and when they would say their “I do’s,” with a bit of encouragement on my part (woo-hoo!), they decided to hold their ceremony in the same place they became engaged.
On September 1st of 2017, Linda and Emigdio and their closest family members made the week-long trip back to this beautiful paradise once again to official become Mr. and Mrs. at the Pyramid at Grand Oasis Resort!
The day of their wedding, the weather forecast was not in their favor. As Linda got ready in her bridal suite, she was informed by her wedding coordinator that her very much anticipated, beach ceremony would have to be moved indoors as the rain was quickly approaching their venue. Let me tell you, if the saying is in fact true, and rain on your wedding day is good luck, these two are some of the most fortunate people I know! Tropical rains are no joke!
But they wouldn’t let this ruin their special day. Inside the resort, in the O World room, Linda, Emigdio and Alexa would at last, all share the same last name!
Look at little Alexa working as not only her parent’s flower girl but her mommy’s dress fluffer too!
Thanks to the hard work of the resort’s employees, we had the opportunity to run out to the beach for some photos.
Also, to those who do not know: post-rain in tropical weather is usually followed by swarms of mosquitoes! I still get itchy looking at these photos!!
Rain and mosquitoes aside, there was no stopping these newlyweds from celebrating!
Happy Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Carranza!
